Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center (SVHEC)

Created by the Virginia General Assembly to enhance higher education and regional economic development, the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center (SVHEC) is a state of the art higher education and training facility comprised of a consortium of seven Virginia colleges and universities. Located on the campus of Virginia Highlands Community College in Abingdon, the SVHEC offers over 65 under-graduate and graduate degree programs and professional development seminars, workshops and conferences that enable working adults to increase their knowledge base and skills. The SVHEC’s partner institutions are the University of Virginia, Virginia Tech, Old Dominion University, Radford University, the University of Virginia’s College at Wise, Emory and Henry College, and Virginia Highlands Community College.
